ABOUT ME

Hi, thank you for taking the time to visit my online portfolio!

I’m Dan Meadowcroft, I’m a hardworking sound designer with 5+ years of industry experience, both working as part of an in-house audio team and as a contract freelance member of the team. Regardless of this I always begin each project with the desire to add value and experience to the developers already present at my respective employers. It is my yearning for improvement and quality which has led me to having 10+ published projects in my portfolio of work, from AAA works to mobile titles, I always bring my strong work ethic and determination to release the highest quality game possible.

  I believe a hardworking, successful, creative development studio, with a proven track record within the industry is the perfect high-pace environment for me to flourish. As part of a team, I enjoy the constructive and reciprocating feedback loop of sharing my work with other members of my team, in order to pool our talents and experience in order to collaborate on a fantastic product. My daily workflow includes software such as Reaper, FMod and Unity; though I have experience prototyping and using all the main features of Wwise and also UE4. 

  I also have experience working self-employed, as a sound designer for film, on-location sound recordist; and a soundtrack mix engineer for an award-winning, major BBC Drama. Working with so many different talented teams, in so many different fields has taught me how to handle strict deadlines, how to liaise with my peers clearly and concisely enough to ensure the highest quality end-product. 

As a professional, I constantly strive for self-improvement, in order to in-turn improve the quality level of the final product of which I am currently working. Outside of work, I have spent my own time and money in order to better myself through educational courses on audio middleware, game engines and learning various new skills which may help me further down the line. I pride myself on my professionalism, quality of work, and creative credentials. Academically, I hold a BSc (Hons) in Audio Production from Middlesex University, which a large portion of my study, and my dissertation being focused on Acoustic Theory and Audio Physics.
